Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

This would be my last post for this year so I'll make it sweet and simple! ^_^

Two days ago I treated my mom and brother with a sweet dessert from Vanilla Cupcake Bakery that opened just months ago at Glorietta near the bridgeway going to SM.

The shop is NOT that noticeable at first glance because they're located at the apparel section of the mall plus the traffic flow in that area is quite heavy.

As you enter the shop, you'll  see a large selection of variety cute muffins and cookies in a clear glass display. There you can pin point your order to the sales staff  but of course you'll need to wait for your turn  first before doing so. Then proceed to the side cashier to pay for your order.

They have so many flavors to choose from. My favorite was the Red Velvet and S'more muffins!

Here's what I have ordered

They make use of wooden fork and knife which I think is cute plus it can be easily recycled. ^_^

Unfortunately I was not able to order tea to go with the cupcakes since they only have limited teapots *boo* . So I ended up drinking water instead.

As for the shop Interior, it was also kinda cute yet simple. They covered the wall with white drapery treatments which I think was kinda heavy. Since the shop was totally covered with fabric! Thank god they used white! ^_^

They made use of a lot of designer chairs which is really cute but not that comfortable like the Daphne chair which where my brother sat. I like the chair but my brother kept complaining that its not comfy maybe because he has a very large body built. Though the other chairs was indeed very comfortable .

Over all the Interior was nice and quite girly, It has a eclectic and shabby chic touch to it., which somehow gives you a afternoon teatime feeling.

As for their muffins. I still prefer Sonjas Cupcakes but this one is also as delicious!! I think it's just bit sweeter than Sonjas. So for those who loves eating sweets, this shop is totally a must try!!

Took home a box of delicious cupcakes for the rest of the family to taste.

Thanks for Reading! Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Vacation trip to Ilo-Ilo and Antique

Hello everyone ^__^ It's been a while since my last post! The reason for that is I've went on a short vacation to my fathers home town to visit my grandfathers grave at the same time catch up with my relatives there since it has been 5 years since I've last visited.

The new boarding pass is so convenient, it also serves as a
Lounge Pass! No need for an separate ticket to hold, which I tend to misplace.

At the Mabuhay Lounge waiting for my flight

At the plane there's a touch screen entertainment gadget for movies and music
too bad I wasn't able to take picture of the airplane food since my phone is already turned off plus left my camera on my check-in bag.

During my stay I not only visited my relatives but also got enjoy the scenery of my dads home town!
Lovely right? Such a relaxing place

I did not only enjoy the scenery but I had the chance to see the children of deceased dog "Lucky" *huhuhu i miss him so much*

This cutie here is simba! ^__^

This Playful one is Bush, I have a feeling that he's the leader of the pack.

And this foxy fellow here is burdigol

The 3 of them are mixed breed of Japanese Spitz and Chinese Sharpei.

Anyways this trip would not end without Pasalubong Buying *Souvenirs*

Here are some local delicacies which can be bought at the airport.
Oh yeah and if ever you guys go to Ilo-Ilo you should try their Lapaz Batchoy it's so yummy! Totally worth eating and also the butterscotch and piyaya is a good pasalubong for your family and friends!! ^__^

I'll be ending my post here since I'm already so sleepy.

Don't forget to read my next post about my review on Prettia Hi-Bleech

LOTD || Interior Designers Oath

Today is like no other, went to Manila Hotel for the Interior Designers Oath Taking and I’m proud to say that today I’m officially a Licensed Interior Designer! All my hard work, sacrifices and patience finally paid off. I missed a lot of things just to get here, like not being able to go to Big Bang and Maroon 5 Concert, not seeing Zac Efron, cancelling my Bangkok Trip and not having enough sleep for months which resulted to hair lost and acnes.

PRC License given at the Event

We were required to wear a board room chic outfit for this glorious event so I ended up wearing my Polka-dotted dress with my Polka-dotted Blazer. It may sound that I went overboard with the polka dot pattern but I think it ended up looking nice and simple and just right for the occasion. I also wore earrings that matched my bag and dress, paired my whole look with silver flat shoes.

At the event itself I felt a bit of a lone wolf at first. Luckily I got to transfer table to where some schoolmates of mine who also passed the examination are seated, although they were from different batches and to which I don’t usually talk yo but still at least I got to seat with familiar people, which made me a bit more comfortable.

Where I'm Seated ( I must say this is the most neglected table
the coffee was served late, even my food was served 20 mins
before the event was finished!!!)

Snack ... was served COLD!! ( X__X)

Good thing they had this freebie ......
..... Oh wait, it's not a freebie LoL, it's a Gift from mom and dad. I wonder what's inside??
mmmmmm...

A box of yummy chocolates!! ^__^ just what I needed, was so hungry during the whole event, the snack served was cold so I ended up not eating half of it.

The event lasted for 4 hrs, although it was a bit boring  but still it was an experience I won't ever forget!

Yomenya Goemon Japanese Spaghetti House

Today I finally got to try the Yomenya Goemon Japanese Spaghetti House. They mainly offer a fusion of both Japanese and Western Pasta. They are located at the 2nd Level of Greenbelt 3. I've wanted to try this pasta house since I heard a lot of good feed backs from my friends here and abroad.

Outside the shop there’s a display window just like a typical Japanese Restaurant have that samples the various dishes that they cater.

Here's a Closer Shot

My friends and I ordered 3 dishes (Japanese style Pizza Margherita, Vongole Bianco, and Napolitean Pasta). Since the serving was big we decided to share it among ourselves. Unfortunately we were so hungry that we only remembered to take pictures of the dishes minutes after we have started eating.

See what I mean?
If you noticed Chopsticks are used instead of fork

  Napolitean Pasta
It is served with egg on top of the Pasta
(^.^;;) though we already mixed it in.

Our half eaten Pizza

Fortunately I got to take a picture of
"Vongole Bianco"  before spltting it into 3 servings.

The food was great, though the Napolitean was rather too sweet for my liking. Each order of pasta has a complimentary miso soup included. The restaurant service itself quite good, they have a very accommodating and friendly staffs. The price is reasonable my only comment is that there’s no house tea offered in this restaurant unlike other Japanese Restaurant that I have been to but over all I would love to go eat here again next time.

Mary Grace-- Strawberry Short Cake Review

Hello I'm back and just as I promise here's my review regarding the Search for the best Strawberry Shortcake in town!

Dish : Strawberry Shortcake
Rating:  (4 / 5 Berries)
Store: Mary Grace Cafe
Price: Php 1150 / $41.15
Comments:

Okay here's what I think. Taste wise, it was really delicious no doubt  about it! I love the taste of the strawberry inside and outside the cake, it was not too sour and was rather on the sweet side.

Compared to last years cake, this one has a better tasting chiffon base, It's not dry and not too moistly or watery! Just the way I like it. As for the cream filling, it was pretty yummy though not better than last year! ^_^

Now lets talk about Presentation and aesthetics. As a girl I think I'd prefer last years cake because of its cuteness!! I really am a fan of cute things ^o^ *thats one of my weakness* ~~ It looks so much like the ones you would see on Japanese dramas or anime!! You will see it later ,on  the photos I posted below and lastly for the price. It ranges pretty much the same, though New Hatchins cake are a bit smaller in comparison to Mary Grace Cakes.

Comparison Chart:

As you can see the over all, It's a tie between the two *lol* I love the chiffon base of Mary Grace and the Cream filling of New Hatchins maybe if we combine the cons of both cake it would taste perfectly delicious! In conclusion Jipans strawberry Shortcake is still the best I tasted so far.

Now for the Pics:

Mary Grace Strawberry Shortcake
Looks simple right? but trust me taste delicious!

and as Promise here's New Hatchins
Strawberry Shortcake

sssooooooooo Pretty right?? (♥o♥) If only It was less watery, It would have been perfect!

I'll end my post with this yummy pics!

So join me again next time in my quest to find the best Strawberry Shortcake!!!

The search for the best Strawberry Shortcake

Today my quest to search for the best Strawberry Shortcake in town continues. So early this morning I went to the "Mary Grace" to pick up the cake I reserved for my birthday!  It has been my tradition for 3 years now to have Strawberry Shortcake for my birthday, and once again I forgot to have my cake reserved earlier. Just liked what happened last year, lucky for me last year the owner of New Hatchin (a Japanese Grocery) was so kind enough to take my order even though the shop policy is to pre-order the whole cakes 5-7 days ahead. They even put a personalize message on my cake, in Japanese! *soo cute i'll post a picture of it on my next post* though they made me to return to the shop 5 hrs later, because they were still making it and still have to deliver it at the shop... So far my favorite Strawberry Shortcake is still the one I bought for Christmas 5 years ago at Jipan Bakeshop.

Anyways back to the story, I asked my mom to call Mary Grace Cafe early this morning to ask if their Strawberry  Shortcake is still available, luckily they still have 1 whole cake left *phew talk about luck* but sadly they were not able to put a message on it because the order should be 1 day ahead of the pick-update.

So after that we went to church then went straight to the shop to get my cake. While at the shop Mom suddenly got hungry, so  we ended up having lunch their. I must say the interiors of the shop is really pretty, the look was inspired on a traditional Filipino-Spanish Colonial House with a homey ambiance

Isn't It Homey??

What made it even more homey
is the Table itself that displays the messages of the satistfied customers topped with clear glass.

The lantern somehow reminded me of "Harry Potter" *hahaha*

so pretty ^_^

Here's a Picture of my order:

Chicken Salad

Spanish Sardines in Olive Oil Pasta
*yum yum*

OK it's time to end my post, will blog about the cake review on my next post for now here's a sneak peek of  the cake
